Bro. Joe and his wife Pam came to our association July 2019.

Before coming to our association Bro. Joe served as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Brinkley AR, He served as the Associational Missionary Liaison and Disaster Relief Director for the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. He also served as Associational Missionary in the Arkansas Valley Baptist Association and pastor of Turner Baptist Church. 

Bro. Joe and Pam have been married for over 34 years, God blessed them with two children, Samantha Sanders and husband Jimmy;                 Joe Garner Jr and wife Christina and 3-grand children; Bailee Grace Sanders, Marlee Jo Garner and Garner Lynn Sanders. 

Bro. Joe has a pastor's heart; he has a love for the local church as well as the pastors of those churches. He loves doing local missions as well as Disaster Relief.

Jean Ann Birdwell

Jean Ann is married to Jerry Birdwell who hauls gas and diesel for B & B Oil. They have a daughter, Carrie Fox who works for the Navigators and is married to David Fox and they are Church Planters in Colorado Springs, CO and have blessed their parents with a granddaughter RuthAnn Elizabeth. Their son is Bradley works for Enable Energy and is married to Tara Birdwell who is a teacher at Liberty Christian and they are the proud parents or 2 sons, Korbry Paul and Garrison Kael who keep their parents and grandparents very busy.

Jean Ann retired from Wal-Mart after 33 1/2 years working in the traffic office.  She attends Valley Baptist Church with her family and has been a member for over 35 years and her parents were charter members.  Her hobbies are family, cooking and decorating.  She feels that God has put her in her Ministry Assistant position for a reason and she loves the people she is working with.


Jan Gaddis

Jan C. Gaddis, LAC, MRE, MMFT

Jan received her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Sociology from Ouachita Baptist University in 1988. She completed simultaneous Masters of Arts degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in Marriage & Family Counseling as well as Religious Education in 1993. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Jan previously worked as an outpatient therapist in a community mental health center. While there, she provided individual counseling services and led in a wide variety of group sessions such as Women’s Issues, Anger Management, SPMI Life Skills, and parenting. She served as a graduation coach working with teens at high risk for drop-out.

Jan has served in Southern Baptist churches for over thirty years leading Bible studies for children, youth, and adults. She has led group studies offering marriage and family enrichment as well as grief recovery. Jan is married to a Southern Baptist pastor and they have three children.

Cindy Hollis

Cindy has served the Association as Ministry Assistant since November of 2001.   She is married to Eddie Hollis, Battalion Chief at the Searcy Fire Department.  They have two daughters, Amy and Marlena and two son-in-laws.  They also have been blessed with four grandchildren, Cameron, Kinley and Conner & Jack.

Cindy is a member at Valley Baptist Church.  She enjoys spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, reading and traveling.


Part-Time Contracted Counselor

Dr. J.D. Stake, D. Min., LPC, LMFT

Dr. J.D. Stake is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  He provides therapy for those exhibiting anxiety, depression, grief, marital & family problems, addictions, parenting issues, PTSD –related issues and most relational issues.  He is also a trained mediator and supervises new counselors.  Dr. Stake is a Searcy High School graduate, and recently retired from the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) where he served as the Director of Ministerial Services and Counseling. He continues to provide professional counseling for Arkansas ministers and their families as a part-time employee of ABSC.  For fourteen years, Dr. Stake served as Church Counselor at FBC, Lafayette, Louisiana.  He brings many years of counseling experience to the Calvary Counseling Center where he has volunteered for the past three years prior to coming on staff.
